GMod or Garry’s Mod is basically a physics sandbox which is stuffed with models and art from Valve software’s famous games, comprising “Counter-Strike” and “Half-Life 2”. With a huge collection of general objects, recognizable props from the famous Valve’s games and pre-built devices such as wheels and thrusters, users could design, build and share almost anything they could imagine. Physical properties of each and every object could be modified, allowing players tweak things such as lighting or amount of torque and force an object could withstand or create. With gmod free, students could model solutions to the physics problems, draw hypotheses regarding how things work in real world, make sculptures or films, or just have the madcap fun.
IS IT GOOD FOR LEARNING?
While physics engine and toolkit are quite superb, gmod free is nowhere near as simple to use such as a globally recognized game known asMine craft. If students do not already have experience with same editing software, they will need to spend animportant amount of time learning in &out of the tools, materials, and settings of the games. The gmod freealso has few highly distracting assets –- weapons and rag-doll, scary character models -– which, for instance TNT in Mine craft, may derail more creative play. As teaching tool, GMod advantages from focused use &clear expectations –- comprising what particular objects must be used. It is definitely a right time, right project learning and teaching tool, and unreasonable as the requirement for a whole class. But certain kids would fall in love & engineer eccentric creations.
Teachers could use gmod free as a demonstration tool for the physics experiments which are otherwise impractical for the class. For instance, a teacher can create a giant rocket, catapult, or couple of objects that push against each and every other with more force than could be securely (or possibly) generated at school.
